iPhone SE 2020- Is it worth it?
Apples recent announcement of the new Apple iPhone, price at only $399, making it one of the most viable options for people looking for a capable but not too expensive phone. Here are reasons why the iPhone SE is suitable for you.
It’s at an affordable price
Nowadays just trying to get a cheap apple phone can be hard, unless you buy like an iPhone 6 or something old. Now with the newest iPhone model, iPhone SE 2020, people can enjoy an apple product without going completely bankrupt. There are other “affordable” apple phones like the iPhone 11, but that still comes in at about $699 which is still a lot for a phone but the iPhone SE 2020 coming in at $399. This is by far one of the cheapest apple product, especially to be release nowadays where phones are often in the range of $800–1300
Included the latest technology
The iPhone SE 2020 would be best compared with the iPhone 8 that come out in late 2017. The iPhone SE 2020 has Apple’s latest A13 Bionic chip, which compared to the iPhone 8, is considerably better than, as the iPhone 8 is only using the A11 Bionic chip. This means the SE would be significantly faster and smarter. It is also rumored to have 3GB of ram, not the best but still better than iPhone 8’s 2GBs. The iPhone SE 2020 supports Wi-Fi 6 compared to the iPhone 8 which has Wi-Fi 5. Finally, they both support wireless changing, but it is unknown as of now how good the battery is. Apple has said it “lasts about the same as iPhone 8” so most likely it wouldn’t have the best battery life.
Though the design of the new iPhone SE 2020 is notably miss the notch, appearing on all of the recent Apple phones, it goes back to the original design, basically identical to the iPhone 8. Same size as the iPhone 8 (138.4 x 67.3 x 7.3mm), Weighing 148 grams and having one single rear camera. The 3 colors that come with the phone are, White, Black and Red, with Red in replacement of the gold on the iPhone 8.
Basically everything about the display of phone is identical to the iPhone 8 except the iPhone 8 has 3D touch, which is lacking in the SE. In place of that is Apple’s new Haptic touch system that can also be found on the iPhone 11. Lastly it brings back the old Touch ID sensor in place of Face ID which the iPhone SE lacks.
The camera quality is the “best-ever single-camera system for great photos and videos,” as said by Apple VP Phil Schiller. Rocking a 12MP, camera with digital zoom up to 5x, and the iPhone SE 2020 camera is by far a more advanced camera, and even slightly better than the ones of the iPhone XR.
With the iPhone SE 2020, you are getting Portrait Mode, Smart HDR, QuickTake video and Portrait Lighting, which all are functions currently not available on the iPhone 8. In addition, you can record 4K quality videos on the device and take 7MP portrait video on the selfie camera. So the camera is not quite as good as the main camera on the iPhone 11, most notably missing night mode function, but it would still take some great photos and videos.
As of right now it is currently unknown to when it will come out, due to COVID-19 shutting down production, we have to assume it might not come out until early 2021.
In conclusion, if you looking for a high end phone, but not looking to be bankrupt, the iPhone SE 2020 is probably your best shot. There are obviously even cheaper alternatives, but the iPhone SE is quite possibly the best.
